I decided it was about time I post some pictures of downtown Wellington, rather than just the outlying areas where I’ve been hiking recently. The city itself has a whole lot to offer, and I set out on Friday to explore and photograph some of the interesting architecture and cityscapes I encountered. The central part of Wellington is only about 20 minutes from my place in Brooklyn, so I headed there first.
I think that one is either a hotel or an apartment building. Strange but kind of neat.
Next, I headed along the coast, battling the wind, toward Oriental Bay, a really nice and very expensive part of town.
I hope you enjoyed this virtual tour of Wellington. I won’t be posting for the next few days as I travel the North Island up to Taupo and Rotorua (and the Shire, of course), but I’ll have plenty of pictures and stories to share when I return!
